The Fourth of July is coming up quickly, so now is the right time to start making holiday plans. There are tons of events going on around Oklahoma, so there is sure to be something for everyone. Below is a list of some of the best spots to catch fireworks, parades, and more!

Parades

Who doesnโ€™t like a good Fourth of July parade? With candy thrown all about and fun floats to see, everyone is sure to enjoy it. Sure, kids will probably like it more than most adults will, but itโ€™s still a fun family event. Make sure to dress up in your most patriotic outfit and head to one of the parades listed below.

  • Liberty Fest Parade – Downtown Edmonton Business District, 9:00 a.m.
  • Celebrate America Parade – Prague, 9:45 a.m.
  • Independence Day Parade – Downtown Bethany, 10:00 a.m.
  • Piedmont Freedom Festival Parade – Piedmont, 6:00 p.m.

Of course, if you donโ€™t like parades, you can always attend one of the many other Independence Day events going on around the state, where you are sure to find vendors selling great snacks. Maybe youโ€™ll even run into one of our vendors, Sylviaโ€™s Sweets, who sells great Fourth of July-themed treats!

Fireworks

Fireworks appease pretty much anyone, which is a good thing, considering the sky is going to be so lit up on the fourth that youโ€™re more likely to see fireworks than you are to see stars. What else is there really to say about it? Below are some of the times and places to get the best view of some fireworks around you.

  • Stillwater, Boomer Lake, at dusk
  • Moore, Buck Thomas Park, at dark

There will also be fireworks concluding each night, starting around 10:00 p.m.

The main draw to the Freedom Fest has to be the concerts.
