In 1980, our organization opened its doors to women in Tulsa, OK as a Baptist women’s shelter in Tulsa, OK. By 1995, the demand for a safe-haven where women could go to escape domestic violence became so great that we moved to a larger location in the Tulsa-metro area and we became known as DaySpring Villa (DSV). DSV was Oklahoma’s first faith-based certified shelter for domestic violence victims. In 2012, we became the first shelter in Oklahoma to be certified by the State Attorney General’s office — offering shelter and restoration services for victims of human sex trafficking.
