Labor Day is coming up on Monday, September 5. Even though the holiday falls on a weekday, there are still plenty of fun things to do all around the state. Whether you want to go to an actual Labor Day celebration or do something else, one of these three events is sure to have something you will like.
Henryetta Labor Day Celebration
Downtown Henryetta is hosting its annual Labor Day celebration again this year. A parade kicks off the day and fireworks end it. Between these two events, you can enjoy a car show, play games, win prizes, and check out the vendors. If youโre lucky, maybe youโll even see some of our vendors there! Best of all, the event is free to attend!
Kids Day at the Park
If you have small children, then Kids Day at the Park in Mooreโs Central Park is the perfect place to go on Labor Day. Along with the park having all sorts of playground equipment and a public swimming pool, there will be special events going on as well. Take your kids to a bounce house, play games, and check out a food truck. Each kid also gets a free snow cone! What could be better?
Pottawatomie County Fairย
While the county fair isnโt on labor day itself, it is taking place around labor day, from September 7-10th. Head to the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center in Shawnee to see all they have to offer. Outside of games, food, and rides that most fairs have, they are also offering several contests. Join the barrel race, big bass fishing, cornhole, or texting contests to prove youโre the best! Best of all, entry is free!
Now you know some of the best options to choose from when it comes to making your Labor Day week plans. Check out one of these events or see them all! Most importantly, remember to have fun!
