Father’s Day falls on June 18 this year. With only a couple of weeks left to prepare, it’s a good time to think about what you want to do with your dad. Skip buying the power tools that gives dad another chore or the ugly ties he won’t want to wear. Instead, opt for gifts that keep giving and experiences he won’t forget.
Go to Father’s Day Fest in Oklahoma City
The Family Builders of OK are hosting their 4th annual Father’s Day Fest on June 18 at Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City. The event is free to attend. Better yet, they have activities for family members of all ages. There is free face-painting for kids. There are also games, bounce houses, and more that may come at an additional cost. The only thing a person needs to pay for at the event is food and buying from vendors, but doing either or both is entirely optional.
The event runs from 11 am to 4 pm, so there is plenty of time to enjoy everything the event has to offer. There’s no need to make a reservation or get tickets in advance. Come as you are. We’re sure the event planners will be happy to see you there!
Share a Hobby
You don’t need to leave the house or even spend money to have a good Father’s Day. If you are looking for something to do for free or for relatively cheap, try asking Dad to teach you and the family one of their favorite hobbies. This could be something as outdoorsy as fishing or as simple as playing a video game together. No matter what Dad picks, it is sure to be a great bonding activity for the whole family.
Buy a Subscription Box
Subscription boxes are the gift that keep giving all throughout the year. Subscription boxes have become more popular over the years, so now you can find one to match just about anyone. As a little shameless self-plug, we have several boxes dedicated to snacks, self-care, and the all-important coffee. If none of these sound perfect for your dad, then you can do a quick search online to find something that fits his interests.
