Easter is one of the major Christian holidays. The date that it takes place changes every year; this year Easter lands on April 9. There are many traditions celebrated on Easter, with some of the most common ones being making Easter baskets, attending an Easter egg hunt, and going to church. To make your search for Easter activities easier, weโve found some great resources and event schedules that you can use to plan your Easter.ย
Make Easter Baskets
There are no rules when it comes to making Easter baskets. By โmaking Easter basketsโ we mean filing them with treats. In a way, they are similar to Christmas stockings, but the baskets are sometimes hidden for children to find. They are usually filled with candy or small toys. While all of these items can be picked up at any store, it can be a lot more fun to make some of the items yourself or go to an Easter sale.
There are a couple of great Easter events happening on April 1. The Skiatook Public Library (Skiatook) is hosting an โApril Flowersโ crafting event. This event will teach children how to make crepe paper flowers. Vernon AME Church (Tulsa) is also hosting its first-ever Easter bazaar from 10 am to 6 pm.ย
Attend an Easter Egg Hunt
There are many religious and secular Easter events happening between April 1-9 all over Oklahoma. There is even an Easter egg hunt just for dogs! These events are mostly for small children. Each event is different. Some events will only have an Easter egg hunt, while others will have prizes, vendors, food, and more! Use this link to see a list of Easter egg hunt events in Oklahoma.ย
Go to Church
With Easter being a religious holiday, most churches will have a special service on April 9. Many churches have also live-streamed and recorded services. Here is a link to a list of dozens of churches that are offering streaming this year. This list covers most popular Christian dominations.ย All church services are free to attend.ย
