Memorial Day Weekend 2022 Events

Oklahoma is a pretty patriotic state, so it only makes sense that there are Memorial Day events going on all weekend– from May 28 to 30. Below are some events that are great for the whole family to attend.

Memorial Day Ceremony

The most respectful way to celebrate Memorial Day is to attend a ceremony. There are several ceremonies going on around the state, but one we would like to highlight is the ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in Moore, sponsored by the Moore American Legion, VWF, and the City of Moore. This will be a serious memorial service, honoring all those who have given their lives for the country, as well as highlighting one veteran who passed away in the last year. The event is free at begins at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Paseo Arts Festival

On a less serious note, the 45th annual Paseo Arts Festival also takes place all throughout Memorial Weekend! This event will feature all sorts of artistic vendors, food, and more. If you’re lucky, you might even see some of our vendors. 

Along with vendors, the festival also plays host to several free music concerts. There will be two stages that will be occupied by one musician or another for most of the weekend. Over 50 musicians in total have volunteers to play! The Festival opens at 10:00 a.m. each day. The event is free and there is also free parking. All donations go towards supporting the Paseo Arts Association. 

Platter Flats Memorial Day Camping Trip

If you love camping and horses, then there is no better event for you than the Platter Flats Memorial Day Camping Trip in Calera. Campers will sleep in tents for the weekend and spend days riding horses on the trails. Each of the campsites is equipped with running water and electricity. Anyone who wants to attend this event is encouraged to reserve their place ahead of time, as spots fill up quickly! This is something that a solo adult or whole family can do.
