Florence Restaurant makes history as the first Oklahoma restaurant to receive the prestigious James Beard Foundation Award.

Florence Restaurant is no stranger to Oklahomans, operating for more than 70 years the restaurant has been serving soul food since 1952 โ€œPeople always say that it reminds them of home. It reminds them of their grandmother’s food because every single thing we make is fresh just like my grandparents made on the farm,โ€ Victoria Kemp, co-owner has said upon being interviewed and informed that for 2022, Florence Restaurant is one of six restaurants chosen by the prestigious James Beard Foundation for excellence in food and culture.

The restaurants timeless appeal, quality food and the soul it brings to each dish not only brings back memories of home cooked food your grandmother would serve but also equally communicates the character and heart of the local community. The restaurant has come quite a long way from its chalk-board menu when it first opened its doors, but has retained its famous fried chicken, candied yams as its signature dishes with your choice of three sides from a list of 11 choices coming shortly as soon as you are seated and conveniently served with Florence Restaurant traditional cornbread and yeast rolls.
