Spreading Holiday Cheer
During the 2021 holiday season, Sample Oklahoma is partnering with the Single Parent Support Network and the Real Single Moms charity. Both of these groups are currently asking for Christmas toy (and other gifts) donations. Anyone can donate until December 9. Let’s take a look at both of these charities and how they benefit local families.
Single Parent Support Network (SPSN)
The Single Parent Support Network works to help both single mothers and fathers. The non-profit was founded in 2002, with the goal of educating and empowering single parents. The SPSN helps to teach single parents by providing life coaching and group counseling. These services are both for parents who are going through a divorce or for single parents who are already split their partner for whatever reason. The non-profit also works directly with children by providing after-school tutoring sessions. All single parents, no matter their background, are welcome to join the network.
REAL Single Moms
REAL Single Moms know that raising a child alone is extremely difficult. That’s why they don’t want any mother to actually have to raise their child alone. REAL Single Moms helps to provide women with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed as both parents and as an individual.
This group also has both offline and online groups and workshops that moms can participate in. Some of these workshops are educational, in which parents will share tips or small groups will work together on projects. Other events are just for fun, like their mom’s night out, which allows single mothers to get to know each other and become friends. All single moms are welcome to join.
Gift Drop-Off Locations
Unwrapped gifts (please do not wrap the gifts) can be dropped off by December 9 at any of the locations listed below. Make sure to check these businesses ’ hours of operation to know what time you can bring your gifts down. The kids are sure to appreciate anything you have to offer.
