The Giving Never Ends with Sample Oklahoma!

Kindness and thoughtfulness toward another are the backbones of Oklahoma. We often hear the phrase, “the Oklahoma Standard,” mentioned; meaning, we are called to care for one another, to be mindful of one another, and to serve one another.  Sample Oklahoma has answered that call! This concept was born out of the desire to help cultivate a sustainable way to fund local Oklahoma nonprofits and a passion to see businesses thrive in our state. Essentially, Sample Oklahoma is your one-stop-shop for all things Oklahoma! Here you can find anything from sweet treats, to accessories, to books and candles-all made from fellow Oklahomans, and who can say no to treats and candles?! Proceeds from the purchases then turn right back around to support a local non-profit in an effort to further serve our community. With Sample Oklahoma, we have a unique opportunity to support our neighbors in their varying crafts, and at the same time, support non-profits with funds to meet the tangible needs of our city. It’s a beautiful cycle of Oklahomans supporting Oklahomans. The easiest way to jump in immediately is to start filling your shopping carts, so you can fill your stockings!

A direct example of a nonprofit able to actively care for people due to the partnership with Sample Oklahoma is Single Parent Support Network (SPSN); they are working to help provide support, comfort, and varying services to single parents across our state. The statistic is astounding: before they reach the age of 18, one out of every two children in the United States will have lived in a single-parent home at some point in their lives. SPSN hosts events and classes for children and parents or guardians alike to feel seen, cared for, supported, and resourced. In this season, a fun way that these two organizations were able to work together was through the event, “Give a Gift, Get a Gift”. For the first 150 customers to respond to the call to help support Single Parent Support Network in this season by purchasing locally made items through Sample Oklahoma, SPSN sent them a  gift in return: Shepherding Horses by Kent Humphreys. It’s a must-read for anyone in leadership. What a joy it is to lock arms together and encourage the betterment of our neighbors!  Hearing stories never fails to warm the soul!
