There are dozens of great universities in Oklahoma to pick from. Whether you want to attend a public, private, or community college, there is something for everyone. Better yet, Oklahoma natives who attend a college in Oklahoma will only have to pay in-state tuition, which is generally less expensive than out-of-state tuition. Below are some of the most popular colleges in the state and what they are best known for.

Oklahoma State University

Oklahoma State University was founded in Stillwater in 1890 as an agricultural college. Today, about 35,000 students. About 2/3 of people who apply to the college get accepted and about 3/5 go on to graduate from the school. Even more impressive than OSUโ€™s academics are its collegiate sports, especially its football team. The Oklahoma State Cowboys football and basketball teams are both in the D1 program. This isnโ€™t to mention all of the school’s other sports and programs as well!

Oklahoma City Community College

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to a traditional four-year university, then community college could be the perfect option for you. Students can still earn four-year degrees here in all sorts of disciplines, including medicine, science, art, humanities, information technology, and business. As a bonus, tuition for Oklahoma residents is almost HALF as expressive as for out-of-state students. Students also have the option of taking classes in person or online.

Randall University

Private colleges are some of the most expensive, but they are sometimes also some of the most well-respected. Randall University is no exception. Like the other colleges mentioned above, Randall University has arts and science programs. They also have a great education and Christian Ministry studies. Randall University also offers some Masterโ€™s degree programs in business, arts, public administration, and ministry. On top of all that, students can choose to play basketball, soccer, baseball, or volleyball!
